WAR ON POVERTY: LEGALLY BINDING BUT NOT LIFE-GIVING.

Another major deception in the area of prosperity relates to keeping believers obligated under the law.

OBLIGATION IS THE LOWEST FORM OF OBEDIENCE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MADE TO BELIEVE THAT THE MORE YOU GIVE THE LESS YOUR SINS - IT IS LIKE PENANCE, PAYMENT FOR YOUR SINS!

So people are offered front row seats because they have given the most yet their lives are stuck in sin.

SACRIFICIAL GIVING IS AN ISSUE OFTHE HEART WHILST GIVING FROM AN ABUNDANCE HAS ITS ROOTS IN THE FLESH.

Mark 12:41-44, Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “ Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

Legalism comes in all shapes and forms, but the end result is the same – BONDAGE. As the Scriptures tell us,

2 Corinthians 3:6, "who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

It is comfortable for the carnal nature to do some things that seem to lead towards righteousness, which is really self-righteousness.
For example, the Galatians started a spiritual walk but went back to ritual practices prescribed under the law.

Galatians 3:1-3, O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you:Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Adhering to the law of the Old Testament but neglecting Jesus Christ does not ensure an abundant life.
WAR ON POVERTY: LEGALLY BINDING BUT NOT LIFE-GIVING.
Mark 10:20-22, And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “ One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

THE WHOLE ISSUE ON WEALTH CREATION IS CENTERED ON FOLLOWING CHRIST RATHER THAN JUST MAKING MONEY.

MAKING MONEY OR CREATING WEALTH IS A MEANS TO AN END RATHER THAN AN END IN ITSELF.
